HYDROSTOP FLOOR

Properties

Brushable, fiber reinforced sealing cement-based mortar for the protection of lightweight insulation which are covered by cement screed against water absorption, especially when these exhibit cracks or brittle and generate dust.

Cracked joint filler on tiles and marble will turn underlying insulation from perlite or lightweight concrete to water reservoirs.
This frequent phenomenon causes rusting of concrete reinforcement and gradual deterioration of the same, combined with weathering of plaster and flaking of paint.

Application

The HYDROSTOP FLOOR is necessary before tile and marble laying, for substrate sealing in swimming pools, bathrooms, showers, balconies, rooftops or porobeton.
Suitable for levelling of surfaces and their protection from moisture, especially when the surfaces are not plastered.

There are capillary cracks on surfaces exposed to severe temperature variations. These require elastic sealing and the same applies to the contacts between horizontal and vertical surfaces covered by skirting boards. In such cases we recommend adding ACRYLIC EMULSION or D-20 by DUROSTICK to mixing water at a ratio of 1:1 so that an elastic film is created. It is recommended that tiles are laid after allowing at least 2 days.

Instuctions

1. Surface preparation
The surfaces are cleaned from dust, oil, grease or loose residues and then are necessarily washed with water. The mortar is mixed with water at a mixing ratio of 25 kg with approximately 7.0-7.5 lt water, continuously stirring with power drill at low rpm or mortar mixer until a homogenous, lump-free mass is obtained.

2. Application
The HYDROSTOP FLOOR is applied in cross-wise pattern between coats on 2-3 equally thick coats with a thickness equal to
1 mm each, allowing an interval of 3-4 hours between the second and the first using emulsion brush or relief roller or sweep implement (T) or the back side of a notched squeegee for tile adhesive laying. In case the time difference between coats exceeds 3-4 hours, then the surface is wetted again.
The freshly coated surface must be protected against high temperature, rain and freezing for the next 24 hours.
